The Coin Sizing Method
Precision FitUniversal scale reference for digital millimeter accuracy
The Coin Sizing Method uses a standard coin as a universal scale reference so our nail artist can digitally measure your nail bed widths down to the exact millimeter. Please read these instructions carefully, then email your measurement photos to to complete your order.
- ✨ Clean Nails: Remove all polish, acrylics, or press-ons. Bare, natural nail beds ensure accurate edge-to-edge measurement.
- 🪙 Standard Coin: Use a recognizable coin with standardized dimensions (e.g., Canadian Loonie, Quarter, Penny, or 1-Euro coin).
- 📄 Flat High-Contrast Surface: Place your hand on a flat, solid-colored surface (such as a clean white sheet of printer paper or a dark table).
- ✋ 4 Fingers Flat: Lay your index, middle, ring, and pinky fingers completely flat side by side. Place the coin right next to your index finger on the exact same plane.
- 👍 Thumb Flat: Place your thumb flat on its pad with the nail facing straight up, with the coin placed directly beside it.
- 🔁 Both Hands: Repeat for the other hand (Left & Right). Sizing often differs between hands!
- 📐 Direct 90° Bird's-Eye: Hold your phone completely parallel to the table. Any tilt creates perspective distortion that skews millimeter calculations.
- 📏 Same Focal Plane: Do not place the coin on top of fingers or below table level — it must rest on the exact same surface.
- 💡 Shadow-Free Lighting: Ensure bright, overhead lighting so the sidewalls (the widest points of your nail beds) are sharp and visible.
